About & FAQs

Who are P.W.T Window Cleaning?

My name is Tim, and I founded P.W.T Window Cleaning in 2013. My father was a window and carpet cleaner so I've been familiar with the trade my whole life. I am originally from Cornwall and moved to Bath in my mid twenties. Not long after I met my wife, and we share a home together on the outskirts of Bath.

What does P.W.T stand for?

Pure Water Technology.
The term Pure Water in window cleaning describes ordinary tap water that has been filtered through a purification system, to remove all the natural minerals.
When we clean your windows, you'll notice we don't dry them off and you'll be left with water droplets on the glass, as pure water dries to leave a completely crystal clear finish - you can leave it wet and it will dry completely clear!

Will you dry off my windows?

No. Although it may seem counterintuitive to leave residual water on your windows after cleaning, this is an important part of the cleaning process. The de-inonised Pure Water does not carry a static charge so it does not stick to the glass like normal water would and simply runs off. If you dry off the Pure Water left behind you will ruin the finish and leave streaks.  So please don't be tempted to dry them off once we've gone!

why don't you use ladders?

Instead of using ladders, we use the Reach & Wash® system. As well as ensuring our safety, this enables us to clean to a height of up to 55ft, well beyond the reach of ladders and is more efficient and cost-effective.

How does a Reach & Wash system work?

The Reach and Wash system uses a pole through which pure water is fed to a brush at the end. The brush is then moved across the window allowing the pure water to absorb impurities and lift the dirt. The window is then rinsed to leave a streak free sterile surface.

How do you clean gutters?

We use an industrial high-powered gutter vacuum (imagine a huge Henry Hoover!). It has an extending pole so we are able to use it from the ground for safety. Only when necessary will we use a ladder.

How often do you clean?

We offer a regular window cleaning schedule to suit you. They range anywhere between 6-12 weeks, and we can discuss what is best for your property and needs.
If you'd like your gutters cleaned this is usually on an annual basis.

Does the weather matter?

We can clean in all conditions except torrential rain or very high winds. If (when!) it rains after your windows have been cleaned your windows and frames will still be clean. Any pure water left on your windows will actually dilute the rain water and stop any streaks or marks.
